Executive Director
Scott is in his tenth year as Director of Just For Kids. He has six children and six grandchildren spread out from WV to China. He holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education and served 11 years as the WV Family Support Coordinator. He currently serves on two National Children’s Alliance Collaborative Work Groups, is a member of the Raleigh Co. Rotary Club, and enjoys taking bike rides two or three days a week to clear his head and stay in shape.

Tim Vickers is a full-time Forensic Interviewer at Just For Kids. Tim was born in Southern West Virginia and has lived in this area for his entire life. He is a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and Concord College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Tim began his work with Children and Families in 1997, working at Child Protective Services, investigating child abuse and neglect allegations. He has been training Forensic interviewing techniques through the State of West Virginia for the past 16 years to Law Enforcement, Child Protective Service workers, Prosecuting Attorneys, and Child Advocacy Staff.

Cathy Heft is a full-time Forensic Interviewer at Just For Kids. Cathy began as Case Coordinator/Office Manager and eventually became a Family Advocate. Cathy earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Concord University and attended Finding Words Forensic Interviewer Training at Marshall University. Cathy loves to travel and is always at peace by the ocean.

Manon Wheeler is a full-time Forensic Interviewer/Family Advocate at Just For Kids. As the parent of a survivor of abuse, Manon joined the Board of Just For Kids in 2013 and transitioned to her role as an advocate in 2015. She has a heart for the hurting, and through Just For Kids, she can see children and families get the care they need to start to live their lives again.

Therapist
Christel Moore is the Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist at Just For Kids. She joined the staff in 2016 and counsels children and families who have been affected by abuse. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Legal Studies from Marshall University, and her Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix. She enjoys seeing the positive changes in the children and the families with whom she works and will continue advocating for change in the communities in which she works.

Bookkeeper
Lynn Lawson is the Bookkeeper at Just for Kids, Inc., joining the staff in 2018. Lynn is a native of West Virginia. As a person who has experienced child abuse first hand, she considers it a privilege to be associated with an organization with a true heart for children. Lynn is an avid reader and enjoys gardening and spending time outdoors. Her time spent with family and friends is her top priority.

Kendall is a Family Advocate at Just For Kids. Kendall was born in Fayette County and has resided there her entire life. She studies Psychology at West Virginia State University and her passion is working with children and families to provide physical and emotional support for them. On her days off, you can find her spending time with her kids, at the lake tubing on her boat, or hiking with her family.

Ria Mitchell is the Outreach Advocate for Just For Kids. She attended Fairmont State University, where she earned Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology, and her Master in Criminal Justice. She is a proud mother of a toddler and has a passion for serving the community and helping children. She is a true crime enthusiast who spends her free time writing, creating art, and playing in nature.

Destiny Thompson is a full-time Family Advocate at Just For Kids. She was born in Raleigh County and has resided there her entire life. She graduated from Liberty University with her Master of Arts in Psychology and a specialization in Developmental Psychology in 2020. She has a passion for working with children and has two boys of her own. In her free time, she enjoys being crafty, reading, and spending quality time with her family outdoors.
